Noises problem
2000 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 142000 miles

so recently my truck has been making this loud blowing noise.
it almost sounds like i have a cold air intake or blower on it or something..
i almost thought it might be a leak in the intake but couldn't find anything..
my father has been a mechanic for 30 years..looked at it, heard the noise and said its my power steering pump going out. the fluid is kind of brown and smells burnt but its got 142000 miles..
i seem to thinks its either my altinator or tensioner pulley..my altinater because i have an amp hooked up with two 12" subs that are extremly loud. but the noise sounds like its closer to that pulley.
any suggestions or know what that sound might be?
