Hello –

First to better assist you I need to know the specific model of your truck….is it a 1500, 2500 etc, or is it a Pickup C2500 or K2500. Next I need to know the exact engine size in liter and what is the 8th digit of your VIN to better assist you.

Next, please go to Auto Zone or O’Reilly’s and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you don’t get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery, alternator and starter.

What does the smell like from the exhaust?

Did you get gas from the same place you did before?

When you say it runs rough…is this just at idle, while driving at low speeds, while driving at high speeds?

Does this happen all the time or just at certain times?

Please do the following and get back with me with the information and we can take if from there.

Thanks for the donation

Please let us know if what the final fix was for your car so we can better assist others. Thanks!

I have seen many of these trucks get water in the fuel system. It will collect in the fuel rails at the corners. They will show the most misfires on cylinders 1,2,7,8. The water usually comes in through the EVAP vent valve assembly. It is located at the left rear corner of the vehicle cab. It is exposed between the cab and bed. The only way to get water out of the system is to take the injectors out and drain the fuel rails, lines, and clean the tank.
