Engine Performance problem
2000 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 142000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have owned this car for approximately 4 years and when I first purchased the car I had to have the BCM, ICM, ignition switch, ignition lock cylinder, and starter replaced due to the notorious "Passlock" problem. I am now experiencing a problem with my car shutting off while driving and not restart. I was told that it was the fuel pump and fuel filter so those were replaced. After their replacement the car began chugging and when not chugging reving up and down when idling. The car was sent to a Chevy dealer after the fuel pump and fuel filter failed to rectify the problem. The dealer stated that the problem was the Mass Air Flow sensor. The MAF sensor was replaced and the car ran fine once now it just dies without warning but will restart almost immediately and run for a short period before repeating.
