Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Volkswagen Golf 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 91000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
HI I am having a problem with my 1999 golf. The other day I was parking my car. I stopped completely then I put it on first gear and accelerated and it just turned off. Then it would not turn on anymore. I left it for a few hours and I came back to it turned it on and it turned on with the check engine light on. I turned it off and returned to my job. When I got off work I turned it on and everything was fine (no check engine light on). I drove it the next day with no problems. Then again, a day later it did the same thing. I stopped to drop off a friend and when I accelerated it turned off and did the same thing. I thought it might be the starter, but i took it out and took it to auto zone to get it tested and it passed. I don't know what it can be. Please help?

Yes I did the tune up I changed the oil and put fresh new one, however, it still did the same thing. The weird thing is that when it turns off, it wont turn back on. But the next day I go try it out and it turns on fine. what do you think?

auto zone computer will not pick it up
their scanner will read if you have codes only
you can check the coil and wires by start the car spray the coil with water
watch it arcing or car may stalls
and if so replace the coil
