Electrical problem

The driver sound electric window will not go up when u press the button, the window goes down when u press down button but does nothing when u press up. The motor makes a noise when u press down but nothing happens, ive managed to push the window up but it wont close theres a gap of about an inch.
Please could you tell me whats wrong
