Engine Mechanical problem
1999 Other Kia Models 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 43000 miles

My car starts but when I try to shift out of Park it will not moved. It's like it's locked or frozen. What could be the problem?
There is a safety lock out solenoid connected to the brake pedal, either the switch or the solenoid is faulty, check your owners manual there may be an override procedure to get it out of park.
my 99 kia does the same thing but it isnt the solenoid, i belivev it is that thing the cable goes into at the transmission area. the thing with a plug of wires comin out of it but i havent a clue what that is.
It looks like it wont budge like its rusrted in lock position.
