Noises problem
1999 Oldsmobile Bravada Front Wheel Drive lots miles

I took my car to a mechanic and he said that my wheel bearing is going out. I was told that they no longer take the casing apart and just fix the bearing but that I must have a kit, the whole hub or something installed. I'm just checking to see if that is truthful.

yes that is true. i just replaced mine. is yours a bravada smart track all wheel drive? if so make sure it comes with the wheel sensor. easy to install yuorself if mechanicaly inclined. i did it myself. cost of part was $106. tax and all. (autozone). prices vary .
