Engine Cooling problem 1999 Oldsmobile Alero 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 88000 miles I know I may have a gausket problem, but when I start from cold it heats up in about 3 minutes and it starts to overheat. I put on the A/C and the fans turn on and it cools down. After that the car seems to be fine. I shut the a/c off after a few minutes and it seems ok. I put a new therostat in also. Could it be a relay problem with the fans. The fact that when I turn on the aaa/c it corrects the problem. I know there are 2 relays. How do they work?
