1999 Mazda 626 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

i need to know how to set the timing belt pulleys so they r in time? i see that they both have a white mark on them and also have a #5 and i on them also. do they have to match up or face up? if so, how can u move them with out messing up the engine. thanks
