Engine Cooling problem

How do you reinsert the raditor drain plug I have bled the system, ran the raditor flush, when I went to drain tge flush the drain plug came all the way out....it is so close to going right back in but I can't quite it...any hints....my husband thinks I have taken on something that I can't do.... I think I just need to get that back in.....
