IM HAVIN A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR WHEN I TURN IT ON IN THE MORNINGS .....THE RPM GAUGE RISES UP AND DOWN FROM 1 TO 2 BY ITSELF CONTINUOUSLY..AND I AM NOTICING A WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT OF MY MUFFLER....IT HAS BACKFIRED ON ME A COUPLE OF TIMES ....

I call that surging and this continues until the engine starts to warm and then idles normally? I assume so. Does the white smoke stop when warm? Do you have antifreeze loss? Check the antifreeze right away and see if it is low. Many times when low it can be low enough that the sensors read errroniously. This causes poor performance, surging and more. Also, make sure the system is purged of air. Once you have checked and found the level is low, keep checking it often and note any loss. You may have the early stages of a head gasket failure.
