Brakes problem
1999 Daewoo Leganza 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 90,000 miles

I've replaced the shoes and turned the rotors, bled the brakes. The only thing was I might of let the master run low on fluid. But I've filled it, and bled all the old fluid out. As of now, I might have 30% to 40% of the brake power this car once had. I don't want to keep replacing parts. I've also replaced the master, and booster with no change. The pedal is soft but doesn't go to the floor. In the manual, it states something about if the ABS system were to get an air bubble you have to have the dealer bleed the air out with there ABS scanner. Is this true? or is there another way to do it.

ABS & TRACTION CONTROL -1999 Daewoo Leganza SX
Page 1 of 1

NOTE: Replacement modulators are shipped already filled and bled. In normal procedures requiring removal of modulator, such as to replace EBCM, air will not enter modulator, and normal bleeding will be all that is needed. If air enters hydraulic modulator, or if an unfilled modulator is installed, use brake bleeding program in scan tool to bleed modulator. Manual bleeding of hydraulic modulator is not possible. In your case if the master ran dry while bleeding, the scantool is needed to bleed it!

I understand what the manual said. I read it too. I was hoping to find out if there was any other way to bleed these brakes with out it. Or tell me just what does the scan tool does to bleed the brakes?? I don't understand how this tool bleeds the brakes.

Thanks for the answer to the first question. I'd give another 5.00 for the anwser to these question.

Thanks Robert

The tool commands the unit to open pathways inside to allow bleeding, and I havent heard of any way to bleed them without doing this.

When installing the brake pads. Does the pad with the sqweeler, go in front (outside) or to the back? (inside) It seems to fit both ways. I've alway put them to the front. but I thought I would ask and make sure.

and again,, how do you rate someone.. as far as points? and what it the scale you use??? Let me know,,, Thank you,,

Robert
