Air Conditioning problem
1999 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 13000 miles

i received a little help on this site the other day. engine runs cooler now. problem: my a/c does not cool at low speed or idle. cools great at speeds above 50 mph. replaced engine fan clutch as advised. helped engine but not a/c. cleaned cond. coils, no change. low side feels a little cooler than air temp outside. high side very warm but can hold hand on it forever. with truck in park at raise idle up to 2,000 rpm, no cheange. put water on cond coils and it helped the other day. has not helped but that one time. out of tricks. please help. its hot down here the south coast of texas.

how is the air volume inside the vehicle? is it blowing a lot ,alittle, nice and strong?

it seems to fell pretty normal. i did notice today that it tried to blow a little cool air while sitting in the ferry line with truck still in drive. put in park and straight hot air.

really strange, I would have the high and low pressure switch checked, I know vacuum is playing a part in this too, I would , and maybe you can do this your self, is , look under the dash and see if you can locate the mixing doors, put your ebrake on and switch from drive to park and see if those doors move at all, if they do then you have a resistor problem. you'll have to bring it in to the shop and have them trace it.
