Noises problem
1999 Chevy Tahoe V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 125000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
The gas tank makes a popping noise after turning the engine off. It sounds like the expansion of a metal can - and it can be very loud at times - I am able to hear it inside the house with the Tahoe in the driveway. Is this dangerous? Can it be fixed? Do I need to have it looked at by a professional?

----------------------------------------------------------Hi Mark. I have the same thing happen every now and then. So far it's not been a problem, and I haven't really gotten a definitive answer as to what it could be.
areyou sure its the gas tank, the mufflers on these vehicles have this concern. for that noise you need to replace the clamp, call your local dealer for this concern, they have the fix for it.
