1999 Buick Park Avenue Rear brakes

Brakes problem
1999 Buick Park Avenue V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

I have borrowed a caliper tool to apply pressure to the piston and rotate clockwise to depress the piston, but it will not depress. The emergency brake is off. Am I missing a step or what is my next step?

is it a screw type tool, or a small box shaped tool?
