Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 55000 miles

Purchased used 1998 Mercury Sable LS stationwagon (attracted by low mileage), but it had not been started for 5 years.
Purchsed new battery, has gas, but won't turn over. Will try replacing fuel filter next, but do you have any other suggestions? Can't even push vehicle into parking spot, as if it were still in park. Hopefully I didn't make a grievious mistake buying this car.
