Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 166000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My civic started running weak, like it was about to stall then began overheating at which point my check engine light came on. After getting the car home I could hear boiling in the radiator but was leavng for a week so I let the car sit. Returning, the check engine light was still on and i received a cyclinder four misfire and igntion problem code with the diagnostic. Distributor cap, plugs, and wires, are all new. My fear is a cracked cylinder head because I can see antifreeze leaking out of the block....What could be the problem?

Hi jbyrne08,

If anti freeze is leaking from the block, it is not a cracked head.

You need to do a pressure test to confirm the leakage point.

If the overheating had caused any damages to the engine, it would misfire when running.

You need to find the source of the overheating which might be a faulty water pump, hoses etc.
