Engine Mechanical problem

I have a cracked intake manifold. I plan to replace it my self. I am not a mechanic. My first concern is removal of the old manifold and the fuel injection. Is the fuel system under pressure? If so how do I release the pressure. Then for this job will I need any special tools. I have a basic set of craftsman wrenches and sockets. I also have a good torque wrench. Any ideas or suggestions you have will be appreciated.
