Transmission problem
1998 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 203,00 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My caravan was working fine, and then all of a sudden i could feel that something was different. At a time or two, when i was coming to a complete stop (like at a stop sign) and when i started to re-accelerate, it would slowly do it, and then sort of jump up and go back down again (like high rev and then slows back down again) it did this 2 or three times, but that isn't what worries me. It is now not switiching into any gear higher than 1st. It just rev's and rev's and I tried to go up to 60 mph but it still just sounded like it was going to take off like an airplane. It just revved so loud, that i continued to drive only 30 mph so that it wouldn't need to swtich gears until i got home and have had it parked ever since. Do you think it would be the speed sensor? I've been researching, and that's the only thing i can come up with, that and the fact that my transmission might be failing. Any suggestions?
