1998 Chrysler Sebring 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 50,000 miles
I aske a question yesterday, nut I think It was misunderstood. Here it, the car won't start when It rains> PERIOD. When the car is dry, Their is no problem and it stars right up. I have had the car in and out of several mechanical shops and so far nobody can pinpoint the problem. Something is getting wet when it rains and, it doesn't start. What part of the car ie; instraments that when It gets wet will not allow the car to start. Basiclly, I think it doesnt start because the drainage system around where the convertable folds into get we and the water drains into the side panels and eventually drains out. Is this happened to anyone else that own a Sebring convertable? Something is getting wet or It's the moister, which is causing the prblem. What do I need to fix this problem. Could it be when the water drains down the windshield and goes into the drainage part, allowing this area to get wet in the engine? Please help, I ahve been trying to get this fixed for months and I only have ine car. Do I need to silicone something? I live on the ocean and we do have alot of sea salt in the area which can cause premature rusting. But I only have 50K miles on the car and It's 11 years old. It seem to me, that It's maybe a contole module, the starter? if it has a crack or the starter is going would it cause the car to not start when It gets wet? I just want to know, what, insde my car that is getting wet, whatever it mayy be because it gets wet will cause the car not to start. And starts when it dries. |

When it doesn't start, have you checked to see if you are getting spark and fuel to the engine?
Many things can get wet and prevent the car not to start. However, we need to limit the number of things to check. THerefore, I need to know about the spark and fuel.
