Engine Cooling problem
1998 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
----------------------------------------------------------------

my car started overheating today. I had just replaced the upper intake manifold(pretty proud of that) and i was driving back from a trip when it started overheating. It looked like it was coming from underneath the "pully"(purple arrow) and it was really gushing. when i replaced the uper intake manifold it was clogged with a bunch of orange junk where the coolant was suposed to go threw. this was some pretty thinck junk. after letting it cool down i tryed to drive it home that "pully siezed" and caused my serpintine belt to come off.

my questions are: what is the "pully" could it have caused my car to overheat?

can i drive my car a short distance home without the serpintine belt?
