Engine Performance problem
1997 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles

Camry started running rough at idle and while driving. Check engine indicator sometimes flashes and sometimes not. Notice fuel smell. Plugs and wires are about a year old and look fine. Checked emissions hoses - all seems to be ok there.

Can you help or give some pointers?
thanks!
John

Steve,
There are 4 codes:
P0300 - random/multiple misfire
P0302 - cyl 2 misfire
P0302 - cyl 2 misfire
P0303 - cyl 3 misfire

Can it be upstream from the injectors? I'm pretty sure the fuel filter and charcoal canister haven't been replaced.

Thanks,
John.

Could be bad inj. Could also be bad ignition parts. I would clear the codes and see what comes back.
