Noises problem
1997 Toyota Avalon 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 137000 miles

I experienced clicking and grinding noise from my front axle so I inspected the CV boot and found that it was in good condition. However, I found that the axle nut was loose so I tigthened it up and test drove the car. 50 miles later, the noise came back but more severely. I reinspected the axle nut and it was still tight. Do you think I've damaged the CV joint and should replace it? What is a reasonable cost for this work?
