Engine Performance problem
1997 Toyota 4Runner 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 185,00 miles

My 97 SR5 4Runner bucks/misfires ONLY when going uphill and when it shifts into overdrive - approx 55-60 MPH. If i back off the gas and wait until I am going downhill it shifts into overdrive seamlessly. Any on-ramp where I need to go uphill exhibits the problem. Going downhill - no problem. Took it to a extremely honest transmission mechanic who test drove it and said it's misfiring and it's not the transmission slipping. any thoughts before I replace plugs, wires, coils, look for vacuum leaks, O2 sensors, etc.?
