1997 Pontiac Sunfire runs ruff at idle

Engine Mechanical problem
1997 Pontiac Sunfire 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

engine sputters as if the mass air flow sensor was going bad. Car doesn't have one. on the trottle body next to the butterfly is a round hole about the size of a nickle, when I spray mass air flow sensor cleaner in the hole and wait for it to evaporate the car runs fine for about 30 minutes. afterwards it starts to sputter again.

Try cleaning out the idle air control valve
