Brakes problem
1997 Plymouth Breeze 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 116000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hey, it seems like the eBrake on my breeze is stuck while engaged, which is a little weird since I've never used it.

I would like to avoid another costly trip to the mechanics just to see whats wrong with my car, so what should I check and adjust to resolve the issue?

Thanks!

I went to a shop and bought all new rear brakes (for $400) but the brake light is *still on*

What else could be the issue? The mech said new rear brakes would solve the problem, but they clearly didn't.

If anyone has any ideas I would be VERY grateful as I have to drive 2000 miles starting Saturday!

I should mention this is the brake light in the console, not the rear brake lights.

Just to close this issue, as it turns out, there was a massive fluid issue in the car.

The entire rear-brake system had to be replaced. Shoes, Drums, and hoses all were worn and aiding to leakage.

I think a big issue is that the original mechanic only fully replaced the passenger's side rear brakes. The large leak was on the driver's side.

The hoses were in such bad shape when the mechanic replaced the driver's side hose it 'disintegrated' in his hand.

Thanks for all the help on this issue, and I hope someone can learn from my experience!

Total cost of repairs (inc. labor) $600
