Engine Performance problem
1997 Other Mitsubishi Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 177000 miles

after diagnostic test it suggested that the idle air control motor could be defective explain please

Hi flyman77,

Is your idling speed very erractic?

The idle control for this model operates on two different circuits, one will control the fast idle while the other will control the normal idle.

If the idling is very low during cold, the fast idle circuit is faulty.

If idling stays high after warming up, the normal idle circuit is faulty.
