Engine Performance problem
1997 Other Chevrolet Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 131800 miles

I have a 1997 c1500. It is having trouble starting in the morning the past year. I have replaced , plugs ,wires , rotor, cap, ignition coil, battery to optima, upgraded and replaced all ground straps and wires to larger cleaned all contact points to grounds and put dielectric grease on it. I have replaced fuel filter several times fuel pump 2 times, just replaced coolant temp sensor, also tps sensor, starter and ignition switch. There is no code that is what makes it hard!!!!!!!!! AFTER driving to work it seems to be just fine afterwards no starting issue like in the morning. Can somebody help me please?????????????

Have you cleaned the intake?

I actually have cleaned it about a month ago the throttle body from butterfly up is shiny, I even took out the iac sensor and cleaned it the other day, just to doit. I have also replaced crankshaft sensor also when it was not starting at all , but cranking.
I was doing a test the other day unhooked the fuel pump it would crank beautful of course not start , hooked the pump back up and it was difficult to crank.

Iwill clean the throttle body agian nothing wrong with trying!!!!!

So when your getting fuel it cranks slower? Well the only things I can think of that fit that is the timing is way off, which would make it run horribly. Or it may actually be flooding. I don't know if your truck has the flooded start like the GM's around that year, but you pump and then hold the throttle wide open in run before cranking it and it doesn't send as much fuel to the intake.

Also, I don't know how you clean the intake but something I like to do is with the engine running spray a small amount right into the throttle body short spray at a time. To much at once will stall the motor but it wount hurt anything. You will set a code with the air cleaner and what not off, and it will make a large smelly cloud, but it will get the valves cleaned up. If the first few times you do it the smoke cloud out your exhaust is black that is all carbon that was built up. keep going till the vapor is grey.
