Hi I am writing from Australia and I have a Mitsubishi Pajero, which is equivalent to the Mitsubishi Montero. It is a 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero V6 3.5 litre.

We recently blew a head gasket. We had both heads replaced and the car drove for about 2 hours then broke down and wouldn't start again. Since then we have replaced the fuel line and fuel filter, the spark plugs and the iginition coils x 3.

Can anyone tell me why the car still will not start? It is driving us crazy and possibly will be the reason why my husband and I divorce (joke). It has been almost 2 months since we have had this car on the road.

You started replacing parts without first determining the possible causes which is a waste of good $.

Did the check engine light show prior to the car not starting?

Are you getting sparks at the plugs?

Is fuel being supplied to the injectors?

Did you check all the fuses?

I woud suggest checking the crank and cam sensor.

Yes the check engine light did come on prior to the car not starting.

We are only getting sparks at plugs 1 and 4 which run off the same coil. Have replaced all 3 coils with 3 brand new ones!

Yes, have replaced fuel pump and fuel filter - definately getting fuel!

Have checked all fuses - all OK.

Have checked crank and cam sensor - getting 20 mV from crank sensor and 10 mV from cam sensor (before cleaning cam sensor only getting 4mV).
