Electrical problem

Hi there. my car will not start. It seems to be something to do with the electrics. It has demobolized before but im not entirely sure what the correct procedure is to reverse this. I do not have the manual. sometimes when i turn the key i will have lights on the dashboard, other times there is nothing. There is nothing from the engine. Its like the power has been switched off!

Check the battery and the it's connections. Does the car crank and not start or is there no crank? Please include the VIN.
