Engine Mechanical problem 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 105K miles my engine will shutdown at any time while it is running. it could be at a stop or while on the freeway. check engine light is on when this happens. anaylzer says it is a vacuum leak. mechanic thought he found the problem, but it is still shutting down at any time when the check engine light comes on. its like turning the ignition off, it just dies. seems like it is running normal until this happens.
