Engine Mechanical problem 1997 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 209000 miles My jeep has just started losing power and popping back through the intake when put under a load. I have checked the exhaust, vaccum , and compression and all seem fine. I can start it just fine and it will idle all day, but when I start down the road and hit a hill or step up on the gas it will kick and sputter and pop! I've statrted checking the fual system but everything seems to be looking ok so far. Any ideas?
