Engine Performance problem
1997 Hyundai Sonata 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My scanner showed I needed a oxygen sensor. When I put it on the car engine visibly shakes and it is a rough drive and the car seems like it wants to stop. When the sensor is removed the engine stops shaking . I can't ride without one because it will ruin my converter. Or do I need a new catylic converter ????
