1997 Honda Accord why won't my car shift into gear

1997 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles

My honda accord won't shift into gear, the check engine light came on yesterday and now the car won't shift into any gear. why?

Hi simpletim,

You need to get a scan done to find out what is causing the CEL to show. As to the gears not shifting, check if transmission fluid is level is correct.

If fluid level is correct, you migh have a failing trans that needs a rebuild or replacement or the TCM might be faulty.

Get the CEL checked first, it might be related to the trans not working.
