Engine Performance problem
1997 GMC Savana V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 69000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
My 1997 GMC Savana (5.7L Vortec engine) just began taking a long time to start the first start of the day. It cranks fine but takes 10 to 15 seconds to finally fire. I previously replaced the air cleaner filter and now just replaced the fuel filter but that didn't help. Van has 69K miles on it, is garaged year round and only driven nicest 6 months of the year. Next I was going to replace the spark plugs, but this is a Starcraft conversion van and I don't know how to get to access and remove the doghouse. Should I attempt the plug replacement or look into other things first? I do hear the fuel pump relay drop out about 2 seconds after turning the key on.
Thanks,
Cal
