Transmission problem 1997 Ford E-Series Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 110000 miles van has moderate shudder with light throttle and goes to top gear (4th) by 40 mph. not noticeable if I accelirate at a faster rate. Fluid and filter have been changed with no differance noted. Will a shop change the converter only or is it ok to just keep driving it as I would not want to spend over 500 bucks or so??? From what I know about transmissions (not much) it sounds like converter lock up problem. U-joints are OK. Thanks for any input on this problem. Gary
