Electrical problem 1997 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles I just bought a 97 dodge ram 1500 ext cab v8. I love the truck, but the headlights don't come on when i pull out the headlight knob. The parking lights come on, but the headlights don't. Plus, when I flick the switch on the steering column to turn the high beams on, the high beams do turn on, but only as long as I hold the switch in. As soon as I let it go, the lights go out all together. I have checked the fuse, and the headlight bulb's filaments (both of them) look good. I am guessing that's there is a short somewhere, but really have no clue. Can you give me any insight?
