Engine Performance problem
1997 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 233000 miles

my 97 caravan ran fine for short jots, we took it on a longer trip it started acting like we were running out of gas until finally it stalled after slowly losing all power. tried restarting and it wouldnt start for about 10 min then it did start but had a really rough idle, like one of the cylinders wasnt firing, i gave it gas several times and it would either stall or back fire, after a hour of tryin to get it to go it seemed like the problem fixed its self, made it about another 30 miles and same problem but this time it didnt fix its self it would run but only idle at 500 RPM, back firing, stalling, restart it rough idle then it would seem like it was tryin to correct the problem, started idling fine until i put it into gear then it stalled. I've had it looked at and no computer codes im outta idea's and its our only Vehicle,can u please give me some insight into this problem. i also added HEAT and fuel injector cleaner, it seemed to help but for only very short distances. thank you for looking at this question i really appreciate any help you can give.

Has anyone checked fuel pressure and volume? Also, has the ignition system been checked?
