Electrical problem
1997 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My cruise control turns on but when I go to set it, it will not set. Any answers?

first thing i would do is change the thrid brake light, located in the rear of the cab. if thats out then the cruise control wont work.

get back to me.

I tried the break light (as funny as that sounds) but no luck. Any other suggestions?

do all your brake lights work? its not funny because the cruise control runs through it and as a safety feature it wotn work if the brakes arnt all functional. why you think the cruise control turns off when the brakes are pushed?
