1997 Chevy Truck Four Wheel Drive Automatic 205000 miles

the driver side door has just started to leak a little and get the edge of the carpet wet from the front edge of the door opng. to about 12" back. the weather strip looks great. the door is tight in and out and up/dn. latch pin has very slight wear but don't look like enough to be a problem at all. the plastic coating on the door latch itself is worn thru is all i can find. no chips in paint or debris around top of door where it mates with the wether strip. any ideas, thanks
