Shakes or Wobbles problem
1997 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 147800 miles
After I had my transmission flushed (and my tires rotated) back in Sep, my car doesnt feel as smooth of a ride as it was before. I've since had my tired balanced (and retorked) which has helped a little, but I still notice some shaking and I can feel the shaking and stiffness in the steering still.
Right after i had the transmission flush, about 5 mins later on the road, I tried to accelerate, and the dial went over to 4 (4000 rotations a mintue), but the engine barely accelerated. That has happened a few times this past year as well, so i dont know if this is a continuation of that, or if this is a separate issue. |

Regarding the slipping. Transmission is probably on it's way to a rebuild by the sounds.
List the mileages at which the fluid and filter have been changed.
Is the trans original? If not how many miles are on it?
Regarding the stiffness: Possible strut mount, ball joint or tie rod end issue would be my first thought assuming the power steering fluid is full.
Raise the front of car up and turning the front wheels
by holding one wheel by the nine and three position.
IS it smooth? Does the spring jutter in the mount as you are turning it? Is it overly stiff?
Regarding the shaking:
Feel the tread of the tire by running your hand around the circumference of the tread in one long pass.
Is there a smooth kind of feel?
normal
Is there any charactoristics that are not smooth?
Abnormal.
One such possibility:
