Electrical problem
1997 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My car starts but does not turn on the engin, I replaced rotor, distributer cap, spark plug, spark plug wires, ignition coil and module but there is no spark from ignition system, my question is how can I check the VCM(vehicle control module) and ignition signal sensor or what is my problem?
Thanks
Kamy

Hello
Thank you for response, yes when I turn on the switch(without starting the car) one leg of two legs of ignition coil cable with body (ground) has 12 volts DC, when I do the same also I start the engine both legs of ignition coil cable together give me 12 Volts DC, but when I keep the high Voltage cable from ignition coil next to body (ground) and the same time start the engine no blue spark from cable.
Thanks

Hi:
It sounds like the coil is bad. If you're getting power to it and it's not producing, it must be bad. Have you tried another coil?

Thank you for response, I try to use the old one it was the same, also I checked the new ignition coil by ohmmeter and instruction from a repair manual book, the amount of ohm between primary and secondary connector are correct, how about pick-up coil (location is inside of distributor), is there any chance that is a problem?.
Thanks

Hi
Yes, the pick-up coil could be the problem. I also believe you have a crank sensor that may cause this problem.
