1997 Cadillac STS Instrument Lights Won’t Come on.

Electrical problem
1997 Cadillac STS V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic 66000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Just bought this car. My companion lights won’t come on when I open the door but they work fine using the switch and none of my instrument lights work. I did open the door one time and everything worked perfectly including the instrument lights but it never has again. Thanks for your help.
