Blocovered in this guider Motor location can change from year to year. It can change with the trim level of the vehicle. A vehicle that has front and rear climate controls may be configured differently than a vehicle that has front controls only. The following are two different repair procedures. One is given because the blocovered in this guider motor is located and accessed in the engine compartment, the other is given because the blocovered in this guider motor is mounted inside the vehicle.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION


Engine Compartment Procedure

REMOVAL:

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the cowl cross-tocovered in this guider brace.
With a utility knife, cut the rubber insulator at the guide lines and remove the metal patch plate beneath.
Remove the blocovered in this guider motor electrical connector, cooling hose and mounting screws.
Disengage the blocovered in this guider motor from the case.

INSTALLATION:

NOTE
Failure to maintain a 25 mm clearance (about an inch) betcovered in this guideen the spark plug wires and the HVAC blocovered in this guider motor may result in improper operation or failure of the blocovered in this guider motor.

Install the blocovered in this guider motor fan assembly.
Connect the blocovered in this guider motor electrical connector, cooling hose and mounting screws.
Install the patch plate and the seal insulator patch.
Replace the cowl cross-tocovered in this guider brace (two nuts each side).
Connect the negative battery cable.



Passenger Compartment Procedure

REMOVAL:

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the right hand instrument panel insulator.
Disconnect the blocovered in this guider motor electrical connector.
Remove the right hand body hinge pillar trim panel by pulling it away from the from body hinge pillar.
Remove the bolts/screws holding the blocovered in this guider motor cover and remove the cover.
Remove two bolts/screws, allowing the third bolt (nearest the right hand rear corner) of the module to remain in place.
While supporting the blocovered in this guider motor, remove the third bolt.
Remove the isolator from the blocovered in this guider motor flange, if necessary.

INSTALLATION:

NOTE
The impeller is part of a blocovered in this guider motor service kit. The kit is preassembled and balanced. Therefore, do not attempt to separate the impeller from the blocovered in this guider motor.
Install the motor.
Position the isolator on the blocovered in this guider motor flange.
Align the motor with the opening in the bottom of the module and carefully move the motor up and into position.
Install the bolts/screws and tighten them to 17 inch lbs. (1.9 Nm).
Install the right hand body hinge pillar trim panel by pressing it into position until retainers snap into place.
Connect the blocovered in this guider motor electrical connector.
Install the right hand instrument panel insulator.
Connect the negative battery cable.
