Engine Cooling problem

My 97 buick park avenue is overheating, whats going on is am getting a leak on the driver side on the car which is coolant. My car overheated on the highway so I pulled over and let cool down put some water in it. And it drove me home good. But it still leaking and there is no hole in my hoses. I was thinking that it was a sensor or something thats making the coolant push out maybe. See I went up the street and it was leaking, So i guess on my way home it ran low and started overheating again. So I let it cool down again and put water in it and it stayed on regular temp all the way home. So my thing is it a sensor or water pump problems because on the way home everthang is ok with the temp.
