Brakes problem
1997 BMW 318 Automatic 160000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
mY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING AND HVE CHANGED THE BULBS BUT THEY ARE STILL NOT WORKING. aLL THE OTHER LIGHTS ARE WORKING. wHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM???/
Check the brake light fuse, and if that is OK, check the brake light switch on top of the brake pedal, check for power going in and power going out when the pedal is depressed.
I agree with Mark, replacement of the brake lamp switch is in order. The part# could be either 61-31-8-360-420 for the two lead connector switch or 61-31-8-360-417 for the four lead connector switch.
