Is the divertor damper moving from heat to cool and back to heat when you change the controller?

Hello –

To better assist you please let me know if your vehicle is an A6 Sedan, Wagon, Quattro Sedan or Quattro Wagon. And you do have the 2.8L engine……

So I better understand…..why did you have all of those items changed in the first place…..because the car was not blowing any heat?

When they installed the thermostat…..do you know if they made sure the bleeder was on top per the pic below.

How does the temperature on the engine look…..where it normally should, higher, lower, fluctuates?

Was the engine temperature doing anything different before you had the other work performed?

Please go to Auto Zone (AZ) or O’Reilly’s (OR) and for FREE they can pull the codes to the car. Most important: Once they check your codes, if they find something and you don’t get it fixed and need to get back with us, please make sure you tell us exactly what the code was, number and all. Example, if the code was E0568 O2 Sensor bad. Then make sure you give us all of that. While there for FREE also they can bring their tester out and check your battery, alternator and starter.

Please answer the above so we can better assist you.

Thanks for the donation

Please let us know if what the final fix was for your car so we can better assist others. Thanks!

its a 1997 audi a6 sedan quattro. heater would blow warm air for about 30seconds and then quit. went back each time switching a different part. thermostat then water pump and now heater core. enginge temp is normal. im assuming the mechanic bleed the thermostat when he installed it. they did flush the whole system out. had heat when i picked it up from them lastnite for about 20min. then got cold. this morning nothing but cold air. Ill try to find an autozone around my area and get codes

There's an advanced autoparts store by me and they say they can't run a test if there's no error light or check engine light on

Hello –

It is possible it came on and went off….so it isn’t staying on……maybe they will test it that way. Is there an AZ anywhere else?
