Brakes problem

I bought this car with one mechanical issue. The ABS pump runs for approx. 1minute when you first start the car every time. When the pump stops the
ABS indicator comes on and stays on.

Manufacturer recommends 215/60r/16s for tires and that is what is on the car.

The owner thought it might be a dirty sensor or metal particles on the magnets. They also mentioned that he just put new pads on.

Will compressing the calipers cause the pump to run if there is air in thelines and or activate the ABS light?

The pump should not be running each and every time you start the car. Tt is doing so because there is internal pressure leakage in the system.

When the pump has been running for too long, the ABS cuts off the system.

You need a scan to find the source. If your model is equipped with an SCS terminal, bridging it would show you the error code in blinks.

The brake and ABS circuit runs in parallel and do mot mix unless there is internal seal leakages.

Replacement of brake pads does not affect the ABS.
