Computer problem

i took the battery out and put it back in and the car will not crank now. everything works (radio, lights, ETC.) but it just will not crank. the alarm system keeps going off but i keep switching it off with the key i the hatchback. it will crank if you run a tester from the positive post to the starter but when you turn it off, nothing. please help me.
