Engine Performance problem

My car sometimes loses power going uphill and then shakes. it doesnt happen all the time and when it does its when im going uphill. ive had the tires balanced and rotated, purchased new tires had the suspension looked at, had the fuel filter looked at. is this a suspension problem or an engine problem. the problem went away a little bit after i bought new tires. shaking goes away if i let off the gas or downshift. usually happens in 5th gear. please help
